Privacy Policy

This policy explains how IndiaFun (“we”), the operator of indiafun.net, processes the personal data of people who register on the site. We act as the Data Fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and handle your data in line with it and with other applicable law.

1. What we collect

• Full name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash) and date of birth, which you give when you register.
• Your IP address and the time of registration, and of each consent you give, recorded as evidence of that consent.
• Whether your email address is confirmed, and when.

2. Why we use it

• To create and run your account. Name, email, password, date of birth. We check your date of birth because the service is for adults aged 18 and over.
• To confirm your email. We send one message with a confirmation link. This message is about your account only and contains no promotion.
• To send you marketing emails about bonuses and promotions. Only if you ticked the separate marketing checkbox, and only to an email address you have confirmed. The box is not ticked by default, and the account works the same without it.
• To keep the service safe. IP address and registration time help us detect abuse and show when and how consent was given.

3. Consent

We ask for your consent in a clear, separate step for each purpose that needs it. When you tick the marketing box, we store its exact wording, the time and the version of this policy. You can withdraw that consent at any time as easily as you gave it: write to the address in section 8, and we stop marketing emails. Withdrawal does not affect anything done before it, and does not close your account.

4. Who receives your data

We share data only with providers that help us run the service, such as hosting and email delivery, and only for that purpose. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data when the law or a competent authority requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists and for as long as the law requires afterwards. If you ask us to erase it, we do so unless the law obliges us to keep it. Unconfirmed registrations are removed after 30 days.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and access to the data is limited to people who need it. If a personal data breach affects you, we notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may ask us to:

• give you a summary of the personal data we process and how we process it;
• correct, complete or update your data;
• erase your data;
• handle a grievance;
• nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.

We answer within the time the law sets. If we do not resolve a grievance, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly register anyone under 18 and we do not process children’s data. If we learn that we hold it, we delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects how we use your data, we update the date and version above and, where consent is needed, ask for it again.

11. Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or third-party resources. Your browser keeps only your language choice, in local storage.
